In an era marked by technological acceleration and the redefinition of artistic practices, contemporary theatre faces a dual challenge: preserving traditional artisanal skills in puppet-making, while integrating digital tools and innovative materials. This raises the question: how can theatre create a creative synergy between artisanal craftsmanship and technological innovations in the field of puppetry, without losing the artistic identity and symbolic richness of these traditional practices? In this research, we adopt a case study methodology, focusing our analysis on contemporary giant puppets, and more specifically on the work of The National centre of puppet art in Tunisia. This choice is based on the expressive and technical richness of these scenographic devices, which combine artisanal skills (sculpture, sewing, corporeal manipulation) with cutting-edge technologies (composite structures, articulated mechanisms, complex logistical management).
