What creative role can an arts&sciences project aiming for an innovative product leave to the public and how can innovation be implemented in societal uses? What dimension of innovation does an arts&sciences project that does not program a specific production and leaves a large part to the public in its implementation provide? This dual issue rests on the difficult question of the relationship between arts, sciences and society, which we will examine from the field phase of the Arts and Preservation of Ocean Life (VIV’O) research project: VIV’Océan (March 26-30, 2025, Bordeaux and its Metropolis). The methodology of this project is that of experimentation in research-creation and action-research. After the assessment of VIV’Océan, the expected results are on the one hand the examination of conditions of possibilities of societal innovation and on the other hand a (plural) definition of innovation based on the levels of creativity identified in this research.
