Evolution of Social Innovation in Developing Countries: A Systematic Literature Review
This study presents a systematic literature review of the evolution of knowledge on social innovation within the context of developing countries. Drawing on a sample of English-language articles indexed in the SCOPUS database, we critically assess and categorize the main themes, challenges, and areas of focus addressed by social innovators across various settings. The review identifies key drivers and strategic determinants shaping social innovation in these regions and proposes a future research agenda tailored to their unique socio-economic conditions. By offering a comprehensive synthesis of existing studies, this review provides valuable insights for researchers, policymakers, and practitioners aiming to enhance the effectiveness and impact of social innovation initiatives in developing countries.
