Artificial Intelligence in Partnerships: A Systematic Literature Review
This article provides a comprehensive review of academic research devoted to studying the impact of artificial intelligence in the field of strategic partnerships. Based on a systematic literature review, the article highlights major trends and growth patterns related to the evolution of this topic and examines the main research themes that emerge from the reported analyses, considering them in light of their implications for future work. The authors conducted a series of bibliometric and network analyses on 267 relevant articles, published between 1999 and 2024. The results demonstrate that research on the topic has experienced sustained and solid growth over the last five years. Two distinct periods are highlighted: an initial phase (before 2018) and an expansion phase (2019–2024). Moreover, AI creates power and information asymmetries, complicating transparency, ethics, and the governance of partnerships.
