Within the SOLOCAL project, this study shows how Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) can act as a lever for organisational transformation in an industrial soup value chain. The work brings together two actors based in Western France: the company SILL and the Terre de l’Ouest cooperative. We implemented a mixed approach combining LCA with a participatory process (regular workshops, interviews, observations, questionnaires). The first workshop assessed initial knowledge, presented a baseline scenario that highlighted the chain’s main hotspots – the stages contributing most to overall impact – and then served as the basis for co-designing alternative scenarios. Within this framework, LCA creates a space for dialogue and a shared strategy. Next steps will examine organisational, economic, social and political barriers in order to translate these findings into operational decisions.
