Innovation and AI: Between Science and Science-Fiction

Science fiction has long been a pioneering imaginary in the robotics and AI sector. As these innovations are poised to revolutionize lifestyles, this presentation will offer a history of these technologies in the imagination. It will examine the processes leading to the institutionalization of the imagination through scientific creativity and propose an explanatory model of the influence of science fiction on innovation processes in the AI sector. This study will also seek to demonstrate that current entrepreneurs are strongly influenced by science fiction, which they seek to realize. This imaginary is indeed at the origin of many dreams that have fueled capitalism for over 150 years. Finally, we will examine some themes present in science fiction, between technophilia and technophobia of AI.
