From Buyer – Supplier Co-Innovation Dynamics to the Dynamics of Ecosystems

Having modelled and illustrated the dynamics of vertical co-innovation, we examined the critical factors driving these dynamics in terms of both client-supplier governance and a category of key players: purchasers. By exploring new sources and methodologies, we identified and characterized these factors before moving up to a more macro level of analysis. By combining our insights into client-supplier dynamics with the concept of ecosystem proximities, we now propose a new perspective on the emergence of innovation ecosystems.
