The success of innovation projects largely depends on the quality of collaborative relationships among stakeholders, with trust playing a central role. This special issue examines the relationship between trust and innovation through both classical and modern organizational paradigms, identifying three main forms of trust: bureaucratic, network-based, and community-based. These perspectives highlight how the role of trust in integrating innovation projects and managing the complexity of organizational environments. By revisiting this dynamic, the issue underscores that trust is not merely a relational tool but a strategic lever that enhances the effectiveness, resilience, and sustainability of innovation initiatives.
