The Creation of Revenue: An Approach by Competencies and Dynamic Capabilities
By Thierry Burger-Helmchen, Laurence Frank
English
The innovation and adaptation capacity of enterprises relies on competencies and dynamic capabilities. In recent years, strategy has been influenced by the development of the Resource Based View. It is now common knowledge that firms’ resources translate into revenue and that dynamic capabilities allow these revenues to be maintained over time. However, few indications are supplied by scholars concerning the criteria managers may apply when choosing assets capable of fostering these various revenues. This paper reviews the main contributions devoted to dynamic capabilities and revenues to define the relationships between these two notions in order to guide the manager in the decision-making process.
