By Faten Loukil
English

This paper aims to show that standardization organizations promote an institutional dynamic that contributes to sustainable development. This dynamic is based on economic approaches and on an analysis of the ongoing ISO 26000 project, which deals with the social responsibilities of standardization organizations. Standards and labels constitute institutional innovations that enhance the performance of companies in the context of sustainable development. JEL: L15, L23, O19, O56
